I am starting an Internet Business

When was the last time you got something for nothing?

If you are like me it may have seemed like you were getting something for nothing.

But eventually there was always an ulterior motive. Be it monetary, or a favor, or even returning a gesture of friendship. It could even be a thank you. Something has always been asked for in return.

So why would it be any different in a business environment? You can't get rich over night unless you win the lottery or come in to some sort of inheritance. And even then, there's the taxes and paper work you have to go through before you actually get your hands on the cash.

So many people are getting involved with Internet and home based businesses without knowing what it takes to make it succeed. There are so many things one must know in order to succeed. Starting an Internet business is no different than starting a business out side of cyber space. You have to build your store. You have to stock it once its built. Then you need customers to come and purchase your goods. This could be anything from grocery to widgets it really doesn't matter.

So how do you build your storefront on the Internet? Well…., you could go out and essentially buy a franchise, (some one else's MLM or Affiliate). That would get you a product to sell. Let's see now what's the overhead so far. We are paying somebody else so that we can sell their product. We have to give them a percentage of what we earn, (it is their product after all). Most of them are going to charge us a monthly fee to sell their product. Hmmmm I think our profit margin just took a big hit. So if that’s the case we better get more customers. Now, how are we going to do that. Well let's just ask the franchise owner. 'Oh you're going to have to go out and get some customers. You're going to have to advertise. I tell you what. I'll give you the resale rights for my franchise. Then all you have to do is go out and sell a franchise to someone else.' Ok, that sounds good, but……'Oh didn't I tell you I get a commission from any franchise you sell'. Uh-oh, another hit to the 'ol profit margin. I think we're going to need a lot more customers, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,. At this rate I'll be dead before I make a profit big enough to pay for everything I have invested in this so far. Is any of this sounding familiar?

Or………………..

You could learn the proper way to start an Internet business that you could truly call your own. There are opportunities out there that will allow you to do just that. It all starts with you. Why do you want to start an Internet business? What is your motivation? How much knowledge do you have about the Internet and how this World Wide Web works? Are you passionate about what you want to sell? Big questions. I know. But in order to build a proper foundation for your business you need to know the answers.

How am I going to learn all of that stuff? Well, that's what mentors do. They teach. You'll know when you've found a good teacher. Grab on to those coat tails and listen, learn, then apply.

The one thing I know I can be passionate about is me. I am the product. With every one else flooding the Internet with the same stuff over and over, the only unique thing about any of this is me. There is only one me. Now that does not mean that I can't be selling a product, (even if it is someone else's). I just need to make it my store. My business.

Internet Marketing on Social Networks

Social Networking seems to be the craze these days. There are quite a few out there and I'm sure more to come.

I have joined some of these and find them to be a very useful tool if used properly. Unfortunately I see a lot of people joining these sites and using them to spam their business opportunity. Now don't get me wrong Social Networks are a great place to advertise your business. But there is a place for that. Every Social Network site that I have been on has a place to advertise your business. That's where you should post your biz op. Usually when you set up your profile on these sites there is a place to put your url or web site address. That's a start for your advertising. If you want more exposure than that, go to the place where you can post your biz op. There are usually more that one place to do so.

All of them have forums or groups for a variety of different subjects ranging from specific businesses to pets to just friends. The way you should use these sites is to go to the different forums/groups and get to know the people there. You will find people that have the same interests as you both in the business arena and out. Look for those that have the same interests and introduce yourself. Don't talk about business right away. Just get to know them. Find out what their opportunity is or if they have some other interest in common with you.

After you get to know them a bit you can find out how they are advertising. What tools do they use. You may find something you didn't know was even out there and be able to apply it to your biz op and become more successful. Always share your information with them as it pertains to what tools you use as well. They might find something in your bag of tricks that they didn't know about. And if it is lets say an affiliate program that you are using to lets say advertise your business, now you have a new prospect for that opportunity. There are so many programs and tools out there, I know everybody is not using all of them or has even heard of therm all.

I use Social Networking as stated above and find it to be very rewarding. Both for my business and for the friendships that I build along the way.

These little tidbits will help you build a stronger team. If you're lucky enough you might even find that diamond in the rough that will join you in building a team that is unstoppable.

Always be yourself, be positive, polite, and pleasant. Don't try to be something you're not.

If there is ever anything I can do for you, you can find me on WOWZZA, DirectMatches, AdlandPro, Yuwie, and on MySpace.

Everybody have a great and successful day,

Social Networking

Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I am Bill Rowe and I want to talk just a bit about my Social Networking experiences.

Social Networking seems to be hitting the web fast these days. I belong to a few of them.

On these sites you can post ads for your business. A lot of people join these Social Networks just for that purpose.

My opinion however is that they are a fantastic learning tool. There are a lot of successful Networkers that use these sites. I have found that most of them are willing to share their knowledge with you. All you have to do is ask.

Now finding those that are successful might be a bit of a challenge. Heres what you should look for.

First off get yourself familiar with the particular Social Network that your on. The start checking things like the forums and different users profiles. You'll be able to tell with in a very short time frame those that are there just to advertise. They are the ones that have their ads everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. You might see a forum that reads "Information on blogging" for example. And in there you will see ads posted by someone for something that has nothing to do with blogging. So now you know who they are.

I will say however that most people that have something in their profile that says they are willing to help are the ones you can turn to.

The ones I really like are Adlandpro, DirectMatches, and the newest one to hit the web, WOWZZA.
Check them out I'm sure you will like them.

Happy Networking,

Bill Rowe
