I am starting an Internet Business

When was the last time you got something for nothing?

If you are like me it may have seemed like you were getting something for nothing.

But eventually there was always an ulterior motive. Be it monetary, or a favor, or even returning a gesture of friendship. It could even be a thank you. Something has always been asked for in return.

So why would it be any different in a business environment? You can't get rich over night unless you win the lottery or come in to some sort of inheritance. And even then, there's the taxes and paper work you have to go through before you actually get your hands on the cash.

So many people are getting involved with Internet and home based businesses without knowing what it takes to make it succeed. There are so many things one must know in order to succeed. Starting an Internet business is no different than starting a business out side of cyber space. You have to build your store. You have to stock it once its built. Then you need customers to come and purchase your goods. This could be anything from grocery to widgets it really doesn't matter.

So how do you build your storefront on the Internet? Well…., you could go out and essentially buy a franchise, (some one else's MLM or Affiliate). That would get you a product to sell. Let's see now what's the overhead so far. We are paying somebody else so that we can sell their product. We have to give them a percentage of what we earn, (it is their product after all). Most of them are going to charge us a monthly fee to sell their product. Hmmmm I think our profit margin just took a big hit. So if that’s the case we better get more customers. Now, how are we going to do that. Well let's just ask the franchise owner. 'Oh you're going to have to go out and get some customers. You're going to have to advertise. I tell you what. I'll give you the resale rights for my franchise. Then all you have to do is go out and sell a franchise to someone else.' Ok, that sounds good, but……'Oh didn't I tell you I get a commission from any franchise you sell'. Uh-oh, another hit to the 'ol profit margin. I think we're going to need a lot more customers, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,. At this rate I'll be dead before I make a profit big enough to pay for everything I have invested in this so far. Is any of this sounding familiar?

Or………………..

You could learn the proper way to start an Internet business that you could truly call your own. There are opportunities out there that will allow you to do just that. It all starts with you. Why do you want to start an Internet business? What is your motivation? How much knowledge do you have about the Internet and how this World Wide Web works? Are you passionate about what you want to sell? Big questions. I know. But in order to build a proper foundation for your business you need to know the answers.

How am I going to learn all of that stuff? Well, that's what mentors do. They teach. You'll know when you've found a good teacher. Grab on to those coat tails and listen, learn, then apply.

The one thing I know I can be passionate about is me. I am the product. With every one else flooding the Internet with the same stuff over and over, the only unique thing about any of this is me. There is only one me. Now that does not mean that I can't be selling a product, (even if it is someone else's). I just need to make it my store. My business.

Nice article, I am curious, did you write it yourself, or was it an autopost from SW? I am still not getting them from SW and the whole thing seems to have stalled a bit, how are you doing?
